Design is often reduced to two elements: Form and Function. In reality, it exists across three dimensions:
Form → How it looks.
Function → How it works.
Feeling → How it’s experienced.
Form gets the most attention because it's visible and tactile.
Function matters when something doesn't do what it should.
But Feeling is where meaning and message live. It's what this choice says about me as an individual, my place in the world, and the decisions I make. It evokes trust, desire, and loyalty.
How did it make you feel? This is the part that sticks with you.
It's where people decide whether something is worth their time and money. It’s also where competitive advantage comes from when form and function reach parity.
Every product, service, and business is a combination of these three dimensions. The most successful ones design all three well.
