Will it float?

There’s a river you need to cross.
Maybe even an ocean.

You’re standing on the shore.
Maybe you can see the other side.
Maybe you don’t know what’s over the horizon.

Either way, you know you need to cross.
Because what you want is over there.
Because staying on this side means staying the same.
Because the tide is rising where you stand.

And yet you’re stuck.
Indecisive. Second-guessing.
Is this good enough? Are we good enough?
You’re waiting for perfect, but perfect never arrives fully formed.

So instead of waiting forever on the shore, ask the question:
Will this float?
Will this get us to where we need to go?

It doesn’t need to be perfect now.
It just needs to get to the other side.
Once you’re there, you can build it bigger and better.
There will be more rivers and oceans to cross.

But for now, it just needs to float.
